My only friend, the end.

SPOILER: The following backgrounds contain promotional photos from tonight's finale. While they are mild in nature, you have been warned.

I do have one more Twitter background coming down the pike in a little bit, and yes, it will be the last one. In the meantime, we've got these backgrounds, which are so very simple yet cinematic, all I did was up the saturation and contrast. I do think these work quite well, as I didn't want to detract from the scenes by adding fluff. LOST can speak for itself, and these final promo pics prove that.

Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley, each a former candidate, look on as Jack accepts his role as the new Island guardian in this scene from LOST's penultimate episode, "What They Died For."

Tomorrow night is the finale. If you haven't already, take a look around the blog and choose a LOST Twitter background for yourself. Wave your LOST flags high and mighty, LOSTies! It's time to represent!

And on the subject of Twitter, I'd like to take a moment to thank all of my Twitter followers, and anyone who has ever checked out my blogs. I started my Twitter account in mid-October 2009, I believe, and I never thought I'd get to this number in a million years (over 500 followers!). I remember how jazzed I was when I had my first four followers, because I didn't know any of them. The Twitter game is kind of odd; you keep some, you lose a bunch. So cheers to those of you who stuck around, and to those of you who have used my backgrounds (whether you follow me or not)! You'll never know how much it has meant to me to see some of my work out there being used by people who can appreciate it. I'm happy to be ending the series in your company. Thanks for getting LOST with me!

(As we celebrate our last hurrah, feel free to tweet me your goodbyes, your thoughts on the series, questions, etc.)

Hurley and Libby fans, Tuesday night was you moment. Here's "the date they never had." You'll notice that the beach fades into a grainy black and white version to the right of the screen, symbolizing the merging of the two worlds (or some bullshit like that). I just thought these two were all sorts of adorable.

Not much else to say except I probably won't be tweeting much today, as I will be away from my computer. It's a pleasant day, I've got the day off, and I'm going to the zoo :) A swell time will be had by all. Namaste.

Happy LOST Tuesday, folks! In preparation for tonight's episode, "Everybody Loves Hugo," here's a new background for your Twitter profile. The week between the last episode and this one seemed particularly long, at least for me, so I'm especially excited for tonight.

As always, enjoy the show, and have a cluckety cluck cluck day!

Numbers Twitter/desktop background Mega-post

(click on pics for full resolution)

So last week, after five+ seasons, we finally found out what the numbers mean. To celebrate, I made the "Numbers" series: six sets of non-tiling Twitter and desktop backgrounds. This is a compilation of all those sets. The first pic of each set below is for Twitter, the second for your desktop (1280x800). All Twitter backgrounds here are non-tiling, set your background to white (ffffff).

If you'll notice, each character's background includes an identifying symbol. Locke's is the smoke monster, Hurley's is his winning lottery ticket, Sawyer's is his letter to "Mr. Sawyer", Sayid's is a picture of Nadia (along with an inscription), Jack's is an x-ray, and finally, the Kwon's is the flower that Jin gives to Sun in Sydney.

4 - Locke

8 - Reyes

15 - Ford

16 - Jarrah

23 - Shephard

42 - Kwon

Candidate No. 8 (2nd of 6)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the second of six character-themed sets related to the numbers. I'll be posting another one (#15) later today, so that #23 will be out by tomorrow. Reason being, as some have pointed out, tomorrow's episode SPOILER alert is Jack-centric and tomorrow's date is the 23rd. And we all know who number 23 is.

As always, these are non-tiling, change your background to white.

Just realized that I skipped a day in updating this blog. Anyway, Happy LOST Tuesday, folks! Tonight's episode is entitled "The Substitute". Enjoy the show.

What if you weren't cursed?

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes has done a good job at offering some comic relief through the years. In a show where tragedy seems to loom at every corner, he's certainly served us well. Don't get me wrong. He may be good for kicks and giggles, but Hurley is also an integral piece of the LOST puzzle.

There is a reason he has survived as long as he has. He is, in a word, special. The numbers, perhaps the most identifiable LOST icon of them all, have followed Hurley at every step of his journey and ours. Of all the characters, he is the only one who is able to communicate fully with the dead. Unlike Miles, who converses with the dead through a "feeling" that allows him to know what the they knew when they were alive, Hurley walks side by side with his ghosts. Hell, he even plays chess with them.

Because of this, our dear friend started to think he was cursed. After he left the island, the dead began to haunt him. Before he arrived, he believed the numbers were the root of all his misfortunes. But what if he isn't cursed, as Jacob said? What if he were blessed? And if it's true that he is blessed, then what is the true meaning of being able to walk through life with your ghosts? What is the value of that gift?

We're about to find out. Five days to go.

NOTE: Gonna be out of town for a few days, so no new artworks till early morning on Monday. However, aouaLOST will still be tweeting LOST news as usual, so follow me (link in the sidebar). Cheers!
