No. 117: Linus

(click pics for full resolution)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

These Benjamin Linus backgrounds mark the fourth installment of the Unofficial Numbers Series. Number 117 corresponds to the name Linus, as seen both in the cave and on the wheel in the lighthouse. Behind Ben in these backgrounds is the heartbreaking scene of his daughter, Alex's death.

No. 313: Littleton

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the third installment of the "Unofficial Numbers" Series, the second in terms of single character sets (yesterday's was Sawyer and Kate). If you've been studying screencaps, you'll see that Littleton is number 313 in the cave, and yes the name is crossed out. Whether that means Claire or Aaron, I don't know. In either case, they're both featured in the backgrounds above. If you'd like a list of all the visible names on the cave walls and the wheel, check out this handy guide from Lostpedia.

Meanwhile, what do you think of Claire 2.0, whom we discovered in last week's episode to be *spoiler alert* MIB's cohort? Tell me in the comments, and as always, have a great day!

The 51/15 Mirror

(click on pics for full resolution; more pics below)

The picture above is desktop size. The first of the two pics below is a non-tiling Twitter background, set your background to white. The second is for your desktop.

This is the second installment in the "Unofficial Numbers" series, and yes, it is just for SKaters! :) If you have been watching out for this pairing for some time, then you may have noticed that their Jacob-assigned numbers (assuming screencaps are accurate, and Austen is in fact #51) are mirrors of each other. So of course, being a long time Skater myself, and at the request of a Twitter buddy, I had to make these. Whether they end up together or not, you can't ignore the symmetry, both in the numbers, and in their respective back-stories. I for one can't wait until these two cross paths in the alternate.

No. 51: Be good, Katie

(click on pics for full resolution)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

What? 51 is a number too you know. Sure it may not be one of the numbers, but let's not forget that Kate met Jacob very early in life. So for anyone who still loves Kate (and I know you're out there), this one's for you.

This is the first installment of a new series of Twitter/desktop sets related to all those other numbers. I've been looking over a list of confirmed names that appeared either in the cave, the lighthouse, or both, and have decided that I will be including in my "Unofficial Numbers" series those numbers in which there is little doubt whom they represent (e.g. #51 Austen, #313 Littleton, etc.). Jeez, did that even make sense? Ugh, so tired.

Anyway, Kate is first, and before I forget, you may have noticed (especially if you're a Skater) that Kate being 51 and Sawyer being 15 makes them mirrors of each other. And yes Skaters, that means I have a gift for you. Stay tuned.

Apologies if any of this was incoherent. I wrote it at three in the morning scheduled to post at 11, I believe. I should stop talking. Have a good one.

Numbers Twitter/desktop background Mega-post

(click on pics for full resolution)

So last week, after five+ seasons, we finally found out what the numbers mean. To celebrate, I made the "Numbers" series: six sets of non-tiling Twitter and desktop backgrounds. This is a compilation of all those sets. The first pic of each set below is for Twitter, the second for your desktop (1280x800). All Twitter backgrounds here are non-tiling, set your background to white (ffffff).

If you'll notice, each character's background includes an identifying symbol. Locke's is the smoke monster, Hurley's is his winning lottery ticket, Sawyer's is his letter to "Mr. Sawyer", Sayid's is a picture of Nadia (along with an inscription), Jack's is an x-ray, and finally, the Kwon's is the flower that Jin gives to Sun in Sydney.

4 - Locke

8 - Reyes

15 - Ford

16 - Jarrah

23 - Shephard

42 - Kwon

Candidate No. 42 (6th of 6)

(click pics for full resoulution)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the last combo in the "Numbers" series. I may update this particular set when we find out which of the Kwons is number 42, but in the meantime, enjoy. I will be consolidating all the backgrounds in this series into a mega-post tomorrow, and when we find out who #108 is, he or she will have his or her turn in the Twitter background spotlight as well.

What did you think of last night's episode, "Lighthouse"? Were you as pissed as I was when Jack started breaking mirrors before we got to finally find out who number 108 is?

Meanwhile, someone mentioned on Twitter just as I was thinking about it, that I should make one for Kate, who people are saying is number 51 on Jacob's list. When I have the time, I will definitely do so. Call it an "unofficial numbers" series, if you like. I guess I better start studying those screencaps!

Happy LOST Tuesday everybody! This is the fifth of six character-themed sets related to the numbers. As you know, Jack is number 23 on Jacob's list. Tonight's episode, entitled "Lighthouse", is Jack-centric, and it just so happens to also be the 23rd of the month. Do not mistake coincidence for fate. Enjoy the show.

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the fourth of six character-themed sets related to the numbers. I'll be posting another one (#23) later today before LOST airs. Right in the nick of time, too, because it's the 23rd of the month, and tonight's episode is Jack-centric, who as you already know, is number 23. Enjoy.

Candidate No. 15 (3rd of 6)

(click pics for full resolution)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the third of six character-themed sets related to the numbers. I've posted two today (this and Hurley's) because I will be posting candidate #23 tomorrow for LOST Tuesday.

(Tomorrow's episode SPOILER alert is Jack-centric and tomorrow's date is the 23rd. And we all know who number 23 is. Namaste.)

Candidate No. 8 (2nd of 6)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the second of six character-themed sets related to the numbers. I'll be posting another one (#15) later today, so that #23 will be out by tomorrow. Reason being, as some have pointed out, tomorrow's episode SPOILER alert is Jack-centric and tomorrow's date is the 23rd. And we all know who number 23 is.

Candidate No. 4 (1st of 6)

(click pics for full resolution)

The first pic in this post is another non-tiling Twitter background; set you background color to white. The second is a desktop background.

This is the first of six character-themed sets related to the numbers. (Seeing as we now know what the hell they mean. Yay! I honestly was starting to think they'd never address this.)

I once was LOST - Twitter background

I've been busy, so forgive me because the content of this Twitter background is actually recycled from this post. The arrangement is different, though, and I actually quite like this background because it's got a grungy modern feel to it. Like it so much that I almost wanna use it for myself...but I won't, because this one's for you :)

As always, this background is non-tiling, set your background to white.

*Coming up tomorrow (or later today, I should say; I don't know how I didn't think of this earlier), a series of "number"-related Twitter and desktop background sets. I've already got #4 done, and it's looking pretty cool.

The Numbers Twitter background

(click pic for full resolution)

This is a non-tiling Twitter background; set your background color to black, please. :)

So how'd you like week's episode, "The Substitute"? Pretty snazzy, huh? We finally learned the significance of the numbers. You know them, you love them, and just when you thought knowing what they meant would appease you, they left you with more questions. Questions like these:

- For one thing, where is Kate's name? We know for a fact that Jacob met her when she was only twelve years old, so what's with the exclusion?
- Which one of the Kwons is number 42? Sun or Jin? If it is Jin, would that explain why Kate's name is not numbered? Is there a rule somewhere that says Jacob's successor has to be male?
- Is this generation necessarily the one that is named on the wall? Who's to say that the Shephard listed is Jack, when it could easily mean his father, Christian. After all, we know how in tune he is with the Island. Likewise, Kwon could possibly mean Ji Yeon, who was conceived on the Island in 2004.
- Let's not forget Aaron. Since season one, he's been touted as the golden child, and we've all been waiting to see what the future holds for this kid. He's got the lineage, the Biblical name, and he was born on the Island; just because we don't see his name on the wall doesn't mean it isn't in the cards for him to lead. So, was he excluded?
- There's always the possibility that this could all be a con by the MIB. When you consider what's at stake, it's not hard to believe that all of this is just an elaborate ruse to get people on his side. Are those really Jacob's marks, or are they his? And if they are Jacob's, do they really mean what MIB says they mean?
- And if MIB is telling the truth, then which of the remaining five numbers and their corresponding survivors will be next in line as Island guardian?
- Finally, there's the other numbers. Are 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 the only one's that aren't crossed out at this point? How much are you willing to bet there's a 108 hiding in our midst? Is there a 316 out there, too?

Anyway, that's all for now. Things are getting busy at school, but I'll update when I can.

Tell me in the comments if I made a mistake about those numbers, since I haven't been checking screencaps, so I don't know if there is in fact a 108 or 316. Would be interesting to see who 108 is. Namaste.

Retro Locke and Typography Twitter backgrounds

(click pictures for full resolution)

The producers have told us several times that this final season will feel a lot like the first. That said, here's a couple of season one-inspired Twitter backgrounds. As always, they are non-tiling on a white background.

A throwback to season one. Fitting because in the end, you can't help but think about the beginning. With that in mind, if you haven't been following LOST exec producer and lead writer Damon Lindelof on Twitter, then you missed this message yesterday:

He's talking of course about the finale. Yes folks, the finale. I assume this means it's being written as we speak. Which means by the end of the week (or however long it takes to write a finale; I'm not familiar) the end will be out there. The end of LOST will already exist. That's huge.

Valetine's Day Cards by Lee Bretschneider

See them here: Adventuring Company. Hurley is on page two. I especially love the Sawyer card. :)

Lee Bretschneider is an artist currently residing in Florida. Very talented indeed.

If Jasper Johns had discovered the Dharma logo...

I imagine it would look something like these. You art buffs might appreciate this post.

Jasper Johns is an American contemporary artist who often used symbols in his work. Symbols like flags, maps, numbers, letters, and in my mind, our beloved DHARMA logo.

These are nowhere near as good or as tactile as his work, of course. The pictures above are digitally created, but a year ago, I actually made a set of two oil pastel asterisk prints on canvas. And now that I think of it, I should have just done DHARMA logos. Oh well. What's done is done.

Mock ads for All of Us Are LOST

So here's the deal. I'm a graphic design student. Literally just learned the basics of Photoshop last year. This week I've been working on a project for school, and today my instructor basically tells me I'm in a design rut. Go crazy, kid! Break away from your left-aligned Helvetica phase. Uh-huh. Too bad I'm totally in love with it. Another thing I'm in love with? LOST.

So I was bored tonight, and instead of working on said school project like I should have been, I made these mock ads for my other tiny site, All of Us Are LOST, what I like to call a super-quick recap website, born of a web development class. Ah, school...

The first ad is done in my usual style. The second, still pretty similar, but slightly retro, and with a novelty font. As always, click the pictures for a full-resolution copy.

And before you run off, assuming you haven't already stopped reading, I'll be posting a new set of Twitter backgrounds in a few hours. They've already been made, but I found that when I post them at a reasonable hour, instead of at 3 in the morn like this post, people actually check them out. Until then, good day to you. :)

EDIT: Oh, looky here. The Twitter post is right below this one.
